RINGANA products: what makes them so special?

Frau im Badezimmer die die RINGANA Produkte anwendet.

When RINGANA entered my life six years ago, I questioned everything first. As a highly critical – yet consciously living – person, it matters deeply to me what I give my body every single day. Externally and internally. After all, it is meant to carry me through an entire lifetime.

At the same time, I try – wherever possible – to buy from companies that demonstrably take responsibility: for the environment, for animal welfare, and for our society. For me, sustainability is not a trend, but a conscious orientation.

With this mindset, I began to look more closely at RINGANA. It was not only about the quality of the products, but also about the thinking behind them. I wanted to find out whether things were truly done differently here – more transparently, more consistently, more thoughtfully.

And it was at this point that the questions emerged – the ones I asked myself back then and that still accompany me today:

What makes RINGANA products special?
Are they natural cosmetics?
Are the products organic?
Why are they more expensive than a high street cream?
And honestly – isn’t a five-euro cream good enough?

I have been a RINGANA Partner for six years, and for almost as long I have been having exactly these conversations with customers and interested individuals.

So it is time to answer them here – clearly and transparently. Not with sales arguments. But with honest explanations.

Because anyone who chooses to use – or recommend – high-quality skincare should understand why.

Fresh cosmetics - more than just a term

RINGANA deliberately speaks of fresh cosmetics, not classical natural cosmetics. The difference lies not only in the ingredients, but in the entire production philosophy.

Fresh cosmetics means:

  • development focused on maximum active ingredient performance
  • production in small batches
  • no long-term storage in retail
  • direct delivery from the manufacturer
  • consciously limited shelf life

Unopened, the fresh cosmetic products have a shelf life of six months. After opening, RINGANA guarantees quality for ten weeks. Exceptions include individual products such as FRESH soap, which has a shelf life of 18 months, as well as FRESH packs and CAPS, which are typically stable for around 12 months unopened. These periods represent minimum shelf lives.

Overall, this is significantly shorter than conventional cosmetics – and often considerably shorter than certified natural cosmetics.

What does this mean for you?

It means formulations are not optimised for maximum warehouse stability, but for active freshness. This allows more room for potent botanical ingredients. Your skin receives a product designed to be as fresh and antioxidatively effective as possible – not one engineered for years of storage stability.

To ensure this works safely, RINGANA combines several strategies known as the hurdle approach. This includes sterile production conditions, carefully adjusted pH levels, the use of multifunctional ingredients, and targeted inhibition of microbial growth.

This makes it possible to avoid synthetic preservatives without compromising product safety.

Natural cosmetics vs fresh cosmetics: the key difference

RINGANA does not position itself as a traditional natural cosmetics brand, but as a manufacturer of fresh cosmetics.

It is important to understand that natural cosmetics are, of course, preserved as well – using preservatives permitted under the respective certification standards, such as alcohol, certain essential oils or organic acids. Many certified natural cosmetic products therefore have a considerably longer shelf life – often between 12 and 30 months, depending on formulation and packaging.

The difference is not whether products are preserved, but how and for how long.

Fresh cosmetics consciously focuses on:

  • shorter shelf life
  • small production batches
  • no retail storage
  • maximum active ingredient efficacy

Why are RINGANA processes centred around active ingredients?

A product is only meaningful if it is effective. That is a core development principle.

Ideas arise from:

  • market developments
  • scientific research
  • partner feedback
  • internal innovation processes

Initial alpha versions are tested and evaluated in the Research Centre for efficacy.

Formulations are developed by an interdisciplinary team ranging from pharmaceutical chemistry to plant science.

Raw materials must be:

  • clinically or scientifically studied
  • vegan
  • GMO-free
  • free from organic solvents
  • non-nano
  • of the highest quality

In addition, RINGANA deliberately avoids mineral oil-based ingredients, PEG emulsifiers, formaldehyde, silicones, nanoparticles and other potentially environmentally harmful substances. No raw materials of animal origin or derived from genetically modified organisms are used.

And crucially: selection is independent of price – it is driven by performance.

Are RINGANA products organic?

In short: partly – but not across the board.

RINGANA is not a purely “organic brand” in the traditional sense, where every product carries an organic seal. Many plant-based raw materials come from certified organic cultivation. Some individual products are certified according to recognised natural cosmetic standards such as COSMOS or LACON. However, not every product is fully organic certified.

Why?

Because “organic” refers to the agricultural origin of specific raw materials not automatically to the finished product or its efficacy. At RINGANA, the performance of the final formulation is the priority. If a scientifically convincing ingredient is not available in organic quality, it is not automatically excluded.

Organic matters – but it is not the sole deciding factor.

Being transparent also means stating this openly.

Why do the products cost more?

This question is valid. And it deserves an honest answer. Several factors come together:

Small batches

Production is demand-driven rather than mass-produced in advance.

High active ingredient density

Formulations are concentrated rather than filled with low-cost base materials.

Research and testing

Dermatological testing and efficacy studies are carried out.

GMP standards

“Good Manufacturing Practice” refers to pharmaceutical-grade production standards with documented hygiene, quality and safety controls.

No traditional retail structure

RINGANA products are not sold via high street retailers or supermarkets. There are no shelf fees, intermediary margins or long-term storage in distribution centres. This direct model enables the fresh concept in the first place.

The higher costs arise primarily from development, active ingredient quality, small batch production and rigorous manufacturing standards.

Isn’t a five-euro cream enough?

It is not automatically inferior.

But it serves a different purpose: long shelf life, large production volumes and standardised formulations.

Many lower-priced products consist largely of water, mineral oils, silicones or fragrances. They feel pleasant, maintain a consistent texture and are designed for long-term stability. Marketing, packaging and brand positioning also play a major role. That is part of the conventional cosmetics industry – but it does not necessarily reflect active ingredient density.

RINGANA follows a different approach: high active ingredient concentration, freshness at the point of use and short supply chains.

The products smell like what they contain not like perfume. They are vegan, non-nano and developed without animal testing. The sunscreens are formulated without coral-harming filters. RINGANA also deliberately avoids mineral oils, silicones and PEG emulsifiers – ingredients widely used in conventional cosmetics.

Whether this distinction matters is a personal decision.

For me, at some point, it became clear: I want products that are optimised for efficacy rather than maximum storage life.

Paths are made by walking them.

My personal answer after six years

I did not start because of a trend. I started because I sensed something different.

Active ingredients first.
Freshness instead of warehouse stock.
Transparency instead of glossy marketing.

And that feels right to me. Not because it is the perfect choice for everyone – but because it is a conscious choice for me.

Some people read this article out of interest in quality skincare. Others sense that it is about more than products.

If you are not only interested in the results, but also in the underlying concept – transparency, freshness and a direct sales model without traditional retail structures – then the partner model might also be worth exploring.

I have summarised why I chose this path, what opportunities it offers and who it truly suits here:
